MySQL pushes Yahoo! into InfoWorld 100 list

The editors of InfoWorld annually list the top 100 companies showing the greatest IT achievements during the year. In the 2001 list, focus was put on innovation and the ability to integrate enterprise technology in core business processes for higher efficiency, including improvement of customer services and reduced costs. Yahoo! was ranked as number 27 on the list for their use of MySQL in financial services:

"Yahoo! replaced a home-grown system with the MySQL database server to power its Yahoo! Finance services, including news headlines, stock charts, and insider trading."
