IT Doesn't Matter

A recent article in the Harvard Business Review provides a compelling argument that, like railroads and electric power, technology is becoming commoditized, and "the core functions of IT -- such as data storage, data processing and data transport -- have become affordable and available to all." The author asserts that overspending will be the greatest IT risk most companies will face. A relevant writing, as MySQL AB's stated mission is "to make superior data management available and affordable for all."
